Overseas Fisheries Cooperation Foundation of Japan (OFCF)
A processing laboratory co-financed by OFCF of Japan was built in the Fishing Port, Victoria. The laboratory is equipped with state of the art equipment such as liquid smoke machine, fish bone separator, vacuum pack machine etc. After it inaugurated in 2009 in collaboration with SENPA two short courses were organized with the help of two Japanese experts in fish value-add products. In previous projects OFCF has assisted in the rehabilitation of ice plants, provision of laboratory equipment and upgrading the research vessel.
