Net Fishery

Presently, there are two types of net fishing, namely, sardine and mackerel fishing. Their license conditions are as follows.

 License conditions for sardine fishing are as follows:

  • Allowed to use a nylon sardine net;
  • The specification of the net must be as follows:
  • A length of 210/9 ply x 20mm;
  • A depth of 6 m;
  • A mesh size of 2.0 cm;
  • The allowed manner of operation is restricted for use by boat only;
  • Allowed to fish in designated areas as per the license condition;
  • Daily operation is limited between 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.;
  • The license is valid for a period of one year;
  • The annual license fee is SCR 100.00.

 License conditions for mackerel fishing are as follows:

  • Allowed to use a nylon mackerel net;
  • The specification of the net must be as follows:
  • A length of 168.0 m;
  • A depth of 4.12 m;
  • A mesh size of 4.0 cm;
  • The allowed manner of operation is restricted for use by boat only;
  • Allowed to fish in designated areas as per the license condition;
  • Daily operation is limited between 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.;
  • The license is valid for a period of one year;
  • The annual license fee is SCR 100.00.
