A heartfelt farewell ceremony was held on Friday 24th October 2025, at the headquarters of the Seychelles Fisheries Authority (SFA), to honor the outgoing Minister for Fisheries and the Blue Economy, Mr. Jean-François Ferrari, who has dedicated five years of service to the nation. The event brought together SFA staff from different departments who had the opportunity to work with the Minister, as well as SFA board members.
During his farewell address, the Chief Executive Officer of SFA Dr. Jan Robinson, expressed profound gratitude to Minister Ferrari for his exceptional guidance and unwavering support. “SFA is now in a much stronger position thanks to your leadership style, which has empowered us to take initiative on executive matters while being guided by your expertise on policy-related issues,” Dr. Robinson remarked.
He further emphasized, “We thank you for your wise counsel, your unwavering dedication, and your tireless commitment to securing a sustainable future for our cherished fisheries sector.” The inspiring words echoed the deep appreciation held by many for Minister Ferrari’s pivotal role in advancing Seychelles’ blue economy initiatives.
As a token of appreciation, the ceremony saw the presentation of a hamper and a specially crafted shield to Minister Ferrari by CEO Dr. Robinson and PS Roy Clarisse, on behalf on the SFA board. These symbols served as a recognition of his outstanding service and dedication to the development of sustainable fisheries management and economic growth.
The event concluded with well wishes for Minister Ferrari’s future endeavors, as colleagues expressed their gratitude and admiration for his leadership individually, while also taking the opportunity to capture a photo with him.
