On Friday 29th May 2026, Staff of Seychelles Fisheries Authority(SFA) came together to participate in the National Pride Clean-Up Campaign 2026, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship and community responsibility.
The activity brought together staff primarily from the SFA Headquarters, alongside colleagues from the Port Management and Facilities, Property and Aquaculture departments, for a clean-up exercise at the SFA Fishing Port at Providence.
The initiative focused on enhancing the cleanliness and appearance of the Providence Fishing Port area through a range of activities, including painting curbs, weeding around the compound, grass cutting, removal of rubbish, cleaning of ditches, and other general maintenance works across the site.
The National Pride Clean-Up Campaign 2026 forms part of the National Day Celebrations 2026 programme and is coordinated by the Landscape and Waste Management Agency (LWMA) in collaboration with the National Day Committee.
The campaign seeks to promote civic responsibility, strengthen environmental awareness, improve the cleanliness and appearance of public spaces, and foster a greater sense of national pride and collective responsibility among citizens.
In support of this national initiative, SFA selected the Providence Fishing Port as its focus area for the day’s activity, reflecting the Authority’s commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, stakeholders, and all users of the port.
SFA extends its sincere appreciation to all staff members who participated and contributed their time and effort towards the success of the initiative.
Their teamwork, dedication, and positive spirit exemplify the Authority’s values and its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community wellbeing.
