On the 18th July 2026, the Seychelles Fisheries Authority (SFA) proudly participated in the Blue Economy Bazaar, organised at the regatta site at Beau Vallon, to commemorate the anniversary of the Department of the Blue Economy.

Representing the Authority were seven of our departments, who came together to showcase 42 years of SFA’s development and achievements since its establishment in 1984. Visitors explored our journey through engaging displays featuring historical photographs, educational posters, informative videos, and interactive exhibits.

One of the biggest attractions at the SFA stand was our educational games, where children and families learned about fisheries in a fun and engaging way. Activities included our fisheries-themed version of the classic Snakes and Ladders called “Fish and Hooks”, interactive quizzes, and other hands-on learning experiences. Young participants were delighted to receive small prizes as rewards for their enthusiasm and participation.

SFA was especially honoured to welcome high-level delegates, including former Presidents, Mr James Michel and Mr Danny Faure, who visited the stand and were pleased to see the remarkable progress and development of the fisheries sector over the past four decades.

The positive feedback received throughout the day was truly encouraging, with many visitors expressing their appreciation for the informative and interactive nature of the SFA exhibition.
